Janette Ewen

Lifestyle expert Janette Ewen is best known for her creative and original approach to decorating, entertaining and fashion. As a lifestyle expert, she has been reporting on the hottest trends for style publications—including Chatelaine, Canadian House & Home and The Globe and Mail—for over 12 years.

Janette appears regularly on City TV's national show CityLine, and makes regular appearances on various TV shows including Breakfast Television, Canada AM, and Urban Rush in B.C. Most recently Janette co-hosted “Inside the Box” with Ty Pennington (broadcast in Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Russia, France, Australia, UK,) and acted as a judge on HGTV ‘s Season Two of From The Ground Up With Debbie Travis.  
Janette is digital fan favorite. Her online show “Style Agents” garnered over 360,000 views and was awarded a Gold Leaf Award by the International Council of Shopping Centers. Her vast network of social media fans includes over 69,000 followers on twitter. Her blog “gojette.com” is a staple among style taste-makers and was recently featured on the pages of InStyle Magazine. Sarah Daniels
Sarah is well known to British Columbians as one of the long time hosts of the Global Morning News, the top rated show that airs daily from 5:30am to 9:00am, - one of the original members of the morning team.  Sarah joined the morning news after a varied career in Vancouver radio, most notably on CKNW and ROCK 101, where she read the news, worked in promotions, and was the “Eye in the Sky” traffic reporter and co-host for the afternoon drive show on CKNW. But after a 17 year career in radio and television, she left to pursue a career in real estate, and has loved every moment of it. She still appears on Global News BC as a real estate expert, as well as other local programmes.
Sarah writes for a variety of publications, and has consulted for articles in MoneySense, Canadian Business, and MacLeans magazines. She is the author of “Welcome Home: the Complete Canadian Guide to Buying or Selling Your Property” –  and the co-author of “Buying and Selling a Home in Canada For Dummies, - both published by Wiley and Sons.  Sarah is a top grossing realtor in White Rock, British Columbia, where she works at Re/Max Colonial Pacific Realty Ltd.

Philip DuMoulin
Philip is all things Real Estate! A successful realtor, Philip has been specializing in residential real estate since 2003 (urbansuburbanrealty.ca) Philip completed the BCIT Marketing Real Estate program in 1990. His passion for events though, side tracked him for 10 years while he worked behind the scenes and as a promoter, of some of BC’s best known sporting events.

Philip has become successful at renovating multi-family buildings and currently has a number of holding properties on Vancouver Island and as of just last year, Phoenix Arizona, where he looking to expand his portfolio.

A gregarious personality, everyone knows when Philip is around. He’s well acquainted with stepping behind the microphone when organizing sporting events and rumour has it was a lead singer in a cover band in the early 90s!

Rosalyn has been working in design and decor for nine years, and established her own business, Wicketblue interiors, in 2004.  She has a broad repertoire of experience both in designing personal spaces within the home, as well as in implementing intriguing space and design concepts within the commercial setting.

Alykhan Velji

Alykhan Velji has been involved in the design industry for ten years specializing in both residential and commercial design. In the fall of 2005, he was invited to compete on HGTV’s “Designer Superstar Challenge” where he placed in the top three. 
He was then asked by HGTV to be the assistant stylist on the first season of “The Style Dept”. He was also design team captain on 2 seasons of City TV’s “My Rona Home”. Currently, Aly does regular Television and Radio spots on BT Calgary, CityLine, Shaw TV, CTV, COSMO, E! and 98.5 Virgin Radio as one of Calgary’s “Style Guys”. His work has been featured in several national publications noting him as "A Guru of Decor", "One of Calgary's Hottest Interior Decorators", and as the top 20 most compelling Calgarians. Updating his Work It Out blog and contributing to several publications also keeps him busy. Ricky Zayshley

Ricky spent the first eighteen years of his life redecorating his room. At age ten he went through a pretty serious Chinoiserie phase. Since then he's gone on to complete a BFA in acting and a Bachelor of Journalism, both from Ryerson University. After a stint at CTV National News, Ricky became the Departments Editor at Jeanne Beker's larger-than-life magazine, Fashion Quarterly. A few years later Ricky and Ms. Beker were reunited when he joined the Fashion Television team, where he served as Senior Production Coordinator. Ricky is currently the Associate Editor at Avenue in Calgary, where he edits the style section. (note: he's still really into Chinoiserie.)

  • Fashion Influencing Design: Fashion has influenced interior design since Coco Chanel designed her apartment to be an extension of her eponymous fashion label. The trend continues — interior designers look to the runways for inspiration, and fashion designers take nods from architecture and design. We'll look at how the home decorator can find inspiration from the catwalk, and how modern fashion retailers infuse decor to sell their fashion vision.


  Kelly Inglis

Kelly Inglis has been in the lighting industry for over 8 years; working in lighting showrooms providing lighting consultancy and prepared practical lighting schemes for residential interiors, exteriors and landscape projects.  For the past 5 years she has also been instructing at Bow Valley College; teaching Lighting Effects and Techniques, Accessories, Decorating Condos and Small Spaces and Decorating for the Christmas Season.
